‘The rot in this country is appalling’ — reactions to undercover report on Ikoyi prison

Fisayo Soyombo, an undercover journalist, spent two weeks in detention — five days in a police cell and eight as an inmate of Ikoyi Prison — tracking corruption in the criminal justice system, beginning from the moment of arrest by the police to the point of release from prison.

In the second of a three-part series, Soyombo exposed how the courts short-change the law, and the prisons are themselves a cesspool of the exact reasons for which they hold inmates.

The second part was published on Monday and as expected, some Nigerians took to social media to comment on the justice system.
