As is the case every other week, the performances of some players in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) trump others.

Here are the players who made TheCable’s team of the week.

Uche Okafor [Abia Warriors]

The goalkeeper filled in for Joshua Enaholo in the 0-0 draw with Rivers United. He earned his team a crucial point by keeping a clean sheet.

Ifeanyi Nweke [Kano Pillars]

The full-back was solid in defence and ruthless in attack.

Abiodun Adebayo [Abia Warriors]

The ex-Kogi United player made enough tackles, blocks, and interceptions to help his team pick a point in Port Harcourt.

Kalu Orji [Kano Pillars]

The CHAN Eagles star was involved in several crucial interventions in a difficult away draw against Heartland.

Isaac Loute [Enugu Rangers]

For the first time this season, Loute made our team of the week courtesy of his superb ball possession and attacking efforts in the 1-1 draw with Wikki Tourists.

Tope Olulesi [Enugu Rangers]

Tope Olusesi’s rebirth in the Enugu Rangers team continued as he scored in the 1-1 draw against Wikki Tourists. He was a constant threat up front.

Chukwuka Onuwa [MFM FC]

The former Heartland midfielder provided an assist and put up a decent performance as his team marched to victory over Niger Tornadoes.

Destiny Ashadi [Katsina United]

Ashadi controlled the midfield exceptionally well, retaining the ball and keeping the quality in Plateau’s midfield at bay. He also scored the match-winner from the penalty spot.

Sikiru Olatunbosun [MFM FC]

Olatunbosun was at the forefront of every attacking move for MFM against Niger Tornadoes, scoring a brace in the process.

Nwani Ikechukwu [Nasarawa United]

Nwanu’s performance on Sunday was outstanding. He scored a brace in the Solid Miners’ 2-0 win over El-Kanemi Warriors.

Nyima Nwangua [Kano Pillars]

The bulky striker harassed Heartland defenders with his big frame. He was rewarded with a well-taken goal.
