Monday Okpebholo, governor of Edo state
Monday Okpebholo, governor of Edo state, says kidnappers are targeting residents to blackmail President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on Friday when a delegation of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the state visited him in Benin City, the state capital, Okpebholo claimed those behind the recent abductions were attempting to discourage the president through “fear tactics”.
“We will not succumb to blackmail. Because what they are doing now is that they will go and kidnap people just because they want to discourage Mr. President,” Okpebholo said.
“Mr. President is resilient. They are kidnapping people because somebody wants to win election, it’s not fair. They did this to Goodluck Jonathan and they succeeded, but we know their trick already.”

Benjamin Ezewere, president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Edo, commended the governor’s performance in his first year.
He also promised that the group will keep supporting the governor in his quest to make Edo state better.
