A flurry of reactions has been pouring in since the appointment of Yusuf Bichi as the new director-general of the Department of State Service (DSS).

Bichi was on Thursday appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to take over from Matthew Seyeifa who was the acting director-general.

Seyifa was elevated to the position by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo while President Buhari was on vacation in London.

The appointment of Bichi has left a sour taste in the mouths of many Nigerians on social media, with the president being accused of tribalism.
