Three killed in auto accident involving Masari’s convoy

Three persons have reportedly lost their lives in an auto accident involving the convoy of Aminu Masari, the governor of Katsina.

NAN reports that the accident occurred on Friday along the road to Jikamshi, Musawa LGA of the state.

Confirming the development, Al-Amin Isa, director-general to the governor on new media, said among the persons who lost their lives were two police officers.

Isa said a civilian also died in the auto crash.

He said the governor was on his way to his hometown Masari, in Kafur LGA for the governorship and house of assembly elections when the accident occurred.

Also confirming the incident to TheCable, Ibrahim Ahmed, special adviser to the governor on security matters, said the accident occurred at about 9 pm.

“It is confirmed. It is a very sad and unfortunate incident. It happened around 9 pm yesterday around Jikamshi to Malumfashi road. The police officers lost their lives in the accident,” Ahmed said.

Meanwhile, Gambo Isah, police spokesperson in the state, also confirmed the incident but was yet to receive the full details of the accident.
