Three killed, six injured in fire outbreak at Borno IDP camp

Three people were killed, while six others sustained injuries in an outbreak of  at an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Konduga, Borno state.

Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said the incident occurred around 10:40am on Thursday.

Many of the IDPs scuttled to safety, while the injured victims were evacuated to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital(UMTH).

Rescue officials were deployed to the scene of the unfortunate incident.

Konduga, a town about 7 kilometers to Maiduguri, capital of Borno, has suffered many Boko Haram attacks in the last four years.

There are 32 IDP camps in Borno.
