Some gunmen suspected to be kidnappers killed three officers of the Edo state police command on Sunday. 

The policemen were reportedly posted to provide security for fun seekers at the Ogba zoo and nature park in Oredo local government area of the state.

After killing the officers, the gunmen abducted Andy Ehanire, chief executive officer of the leisure park.

The suspects also made away with the rifles of the policemen after killing them. The incident disrupted activities at the leisure park as many fun seekers ran for safety.

Moses Nkombe, spokesman 0f the command, who confirmed the killings and abduction, said the situation had been brought under control.

Nkombe said the attackers would soon be brought to book as security had been beefed up in the area.

The remains of the police officers had since been deposited at the Benin central hospital morgue.
