TikTok introduces artiste-centric platform in Nigeria to support musicians, creators

TikTok has launched an artiste-centric platform in Nigeria to help musicians, creators, and labels grow their careers.

In a statement on Monday, the company said the platform, called ‘TikTok for Artistes’, debuted globally earlier this year.

The social media company said the platform provides artistes and their teams with an all-in-one dashboard updated daily with insights on song performance, fan engagement, and audience demographics.

It also offers step-by-step guides and resources to support long-term career growth.

Toyin Mustapha, head of music partnerships for the United Kingdom (UK), Ireland, and sub-Saharan Africa at TikTok, said the platform is designed to give creators the information they need to expand their reach.

“With the launch of TikTok for Artists in Nigeria, we’re giving artists and their teams access to insights that can help them engage their fans in more meaningful ways and grow their careers globally,” he said.

“This platform is about putting powerful, transparent data in the hands of creators so they can make smarter decisions and connect with the global TikTok community”.

TikTok also announced a pre-release tool, which will enable artists to create campaigns for upcoming albums and allow fans to pre-save songs on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.

Jordan Adetunji, a British artiste, described the platform as a “game changer”, stating that it provides detailed insights for both artistes and their teams to plan effective campaigns.

The company said the rollout aligns with its commitment to investing in Africa’s creative economy and helping artistes build sustainable, global careers.
