Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says God chose President Muhammadu Buhari to lead Nigeria in order to turn the fortunes of the country around for the better.

Speaking on Saturday during a thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate his inauguration, Osinbajo expressed optimism that Buhari’s government would address some of the problems affecting the country.

“God’s plan is to make Nigeria a nation that will be admired and respected among the nations of the earth; and this he intend to do by establishing truth and integrity, ensuring that corruption is eradicated, and resources meant for all are not cornered by few,” he said.

“The Lord wants a nation ruled only in accordance with law and justice where the guilty are punished and the good is rewarded.

“Listening to President Muhammadu Buhari’s inaugural speech yesterday, you will agree that he emphasized these three clear designs of God.”

He also said he was committed to the task ahead of him and thanked God for finding him worthy.

“I thank the great and mighty God, who has chosen me at this time by himself to assist the president of this nation.”
