President Bola Tinubu and several political and traditional leaders on Friday attended the coronation of Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The ceremony took place at Mapo Hall in Ibadan where Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, presented the staff of office to Ladoja.
The new monarch, who turned 81 on Thursday, succeeds Owolabi Olakulehin, who died in June.
Tinubu left Abuja earlier in the day aboard the presidential jet to attend the coronation. Among the governors present were Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti.

Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo state, now assumes leadership of one of Nigeria’s most prominent traditional stools.
