Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babatunde Fashola, minister of works and housing, attended the retreat for cabinet members of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos state, on Friday.

The duo, who are former governors of the state, delivered speeches at the programme.

In his remarks, Tinubu said the incumbent governor needs to work hard to achieve the agenda of the ruling party in the state.

He urged Sanwo-Olu and his new cabinet to govern the state not only with the use of talents, but also with good character.

“Many books on leadership and administration have been written by great thinkers which focused on talent of individuals. But, is leadership about talent alone? I say no,” he said.

“Talent can only give you the opportunity to shine and get recognition among your peers. But it cannot pave the way for success. Talent without character is an effort to nowhere.”

Fashola commended the new commissioners and special advisers in the state for accepting the appointments, urging them to prepare for a “tough task.”
