President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated GB Foods Tomato Processing Company in Ngaski, Kebbi State.

During the inauguration on March 8, Tinubu, represented by Abubakar Kyari, minister of agriculture and food security, commended the company for its huge investment in the country.

According to Tinubu, his administration is committed to providing a conducive environment for private investors to operate in the country.

“Let me reiterate the commitment of my administration to providing conducive environment to private investors to invest in agricultural sector in line with my eight-point agenda,” he said.

In his remark, Kyari said GB tomato factory is the “largest in Africa” and encouraged investors to focus on Nigeria.

“This is a sign that there is confidence in Nigeria, under the able leadership of President Tinubu, for foreign investors to come and invest,” he said.

“Let me say that this is the second time I’m coming to Kebbi State in a little over a month.

“First, I visited a Rice Mill, the largest in West Africa, and today I’m visiting the largest tomato factory in Africa, all in Kebbi State.”

‘WE WANT RESILIENT INVESTORS IN NIGERIA’

Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation, has also called on foreign investors to emulate the long-term commitment of GB Foods towards investing in Nigeria.

Rabiu Ibrahim, the minister’s special assistant on media, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

According to the minister, GB Foods has used this project to set a good example to other investors interested in investing in Nigeria.

“GB Foods are resilient, determined and focused, and this is what we want all investors in Nigeria to be. We want people who will stay with us through thick and thin, so that Nigeria can reach the desired destination,” he said.

”This project is a good example of that, we thank GB Foods for believing and investing in Nigeria, and I want to assure you that you will receive all the support you require to continue to invest.”

“For those who say that it’s only bad stories coming out of Nigeria, this is a very good story to tell.”

Idris said while the media is saying all foreigners and investors are leaving the country, the company is investing more in Nigeria.
