President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday held a private meeting with Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the presidential villa.

Also at the meeting was Bisi Akande, former interim national chairman of the APC.

Although, the details of the meeting are vague, it is most likely related to the naming of members of Buhari’s cabinet this September.

However, speaking with state house correspondents after the meeting, Tinubu dismissed the speculation that he was at the villa to tender names of his choice candidates for minister to the president.

He also refuted the speculation of a rift between him and Atiku Abubakar over chairmanship of the APC board of trustees.

This is the second time the APC national leader has visited the president at the villa since his inauguration on May 29.

In July, Tinubu joined Buhari to break fast at the presidential villa, where he denied reports of a face-off between him and the president.
