President Bola Tinubu has nominated Ikechukwu Ugwuegede to represent the south-east on the board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Ugwuegede earlier served as chairman of the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA) between 2011 and 2015.

He also contested to represent Nsukka/Igboeze south federal constituency in the house of representatives during the 2019 general election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tinubu had earlier forwarded a list of nominees for the NCC board to the senate without any representative from the south-east.
