Tinubu, Obasanjo, Osoba commend Abiodun’s ‘transformative’ leadership on 65th birthday

President Bola Tinubu says the transformative leadership exhibited by Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, has led to significant advancements in infrastructure and socio-economic development in the state.

The president spoke during a thanksgiving service marking the governor’s 65th birthday and six years in office, held at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu highlighted Abiodun’s achievements across various sectors, including social welfare, education, youth empowerment, agriculture, and food security.

“Your leadership over the past six years has transformed the entirety of Ogun state into a model of progress,” Akpabio stated on behalf of the president.

He said Abiodun’s transparent and inclusive governance has fostered innovation, stability, and sustainable development, positioning Ogun as a leading destination for investment with a growing internally generated revenue (IGR).

Akpabio, in his personal remarks, acknowledged the developmental strides recorded by the Ogun state governor.

“I was a bit scared when I landed today at the airport because I thought I would remain in history as the best-ever governor Nigeria has produced, but seeing what is happening here, it looks like people are trying to beat my record,” he said.
