President Bola Tinubu has suspended Halima Shehu as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), over alleged financial malfeasance.
According to Channels, the president appointed Akindele Egbuwalo, the national N-Power programme manager, to replace Shehu in acting capacity, pending the conclusion of investigations.
A senior official in the presidency confirmed the development to TheCable. The official said Shehu was seen clearing her desk before stern-looking Department of State Services (DSS) personnel, early Tuesday.
Shehu’s appointment was confirmed by the senate on October 18, 2023.
