Super Falcons
President Bola Tinubu will host the Super Falcons at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
On Saturday, the Falcons produced a dramatic 3-2 victory over Morocco to win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Jennifer Echegini scored the all-important winning goal as the Super Falcons of Nigeria came from two goals down to win the final.
The victory in Rabat, Morocco, was Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title.

The team is expected to return to the country on Monday around noon and will be received by the president by 2 pm.
The Falcons will also have an open-bus parade around the capital city with the newly won trophy.
Immediately after the final, Tinubu spoke to the team via a video call, congratulating the players and officials on their victory.

In a public message, the president stated that the team successfully achieved Nigeria’s mission at the competition.
“The Super Falcons’ spectacular performance tonight in Rabat, coming from behind to beat a spirited Moroccan side playing in front of a passionate home crowd, exemplifies the determination that defines the Nigerian spirit,” the statement read.
