Tinubu to troops: Reclaim every inch of Nigeria’s territory from bandits, terrorists

President Bola Tinubu says Nigerians are counting on the troops of the Nigerian Army to reclaim the country’s territory from bandits and terrorists.

Tinubu, who addressed the troops during his visit to Katsina on Friday, described them as brave and gallant defenders of the nation.

The president also described the soldiers as the shield of the country, standing between the people and the forces of terror.

“I stand before you today not just as your president and Commander-in-Chief, but as a fellow patriot, deeply humbled by your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the peace, security, and sovereignty of our great nation,” Tinubu said.

“Every inch of ground you hold, every terrorist you neutralise, and every community you secure is a victory for justice, freedom, and the future of our children.”

Tinubu said the operations that the troops are undertaking in Katsina and across the country are not just a battle for territory but a battle for the soul of Nigeria.

“Your resilience in the face of danger inspires the entire nation. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed,” he said.

The president acknowledged the challenges faced by the troops, noting that the government is taking bold steps to equip them with advanced equipment, superior intelligence, and robust logistical support.

He said the threats of terrorism, banditry, and insurgency had persisted for too long.

“But it is not just about weapons. Your welfare is my top priority,” Tinubu said.

“Let me hear you loudly: Are you ready? Are you committed to ending this insecurity once and for all? Let your resolve echo through every valley and forest. Let the enemies of Nigeria know their time is up.
