BREAKING: Tobi Amusan wins 100m hurdles gold at Commonwealth Games

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham.
The reigning world champion and record holder successfully defended her title at the Alexander stadium on Sunday morning.
Amusan ended the race in 12.30 seconds to also set a new games record in the process.
Devynne Charlton of Barbados claimed the silver medal while England’s Cindy Sember finished 3rd to clinch the bronze.
With her feat, Nigeria has now secured 31 medals — 10 gold, 8 silver, and 13 bronze — at the ongoing Commonwealth Games.
Last month, at the World Athletic Championship, Amusan broke the hurdles record in the semi-finals in 12.12s.
The 25-year-old became the first Nigerian to win a gold medal at the championship with a spirited display in Eugene, Oregon.
Similarly, at the World Athletics Diamond League in June, the Nigerian defended her African championships title with a 12:57 seconds finish.
Amusan is now the first and only Nigerian to be crowned African, Commonwealth, and World champion in the same year.
