Screen diva Toke Makinwa and popular comedian Bovi have been unveiled as hosts for this year’s edition of one of Nigeria’s biggest and most prestigious music awards, The Headies.

Themed Feel the Passion…, the 9th season of The Headies will hold on October 25, 2014 and will feature some of the biggest performances and side attractions ever witnessed on the Headies stage.

Toke Makinwa and Bovi will join past hosts, Dr Sid, Tiwa Savage, eLDee, Rita Dominic, MI, Omawumi among other A-list celebrities who have graced the Headies stage as hosts.

CEO of Smooth Promotions, Mr Ayo Animashaun said: “Our decision on this year’s selection of hosts for the Headies is undeniably a well-deserved selection, as Bovi and Toke Makinwa have both made a huge impact in the industry with their outstanding skills and talent. Guests are definitely in for a world-class experience this year.”

The Headies, formerly known as the HipHopWorld, awards has over the years recognised and celebrated notable achievements of buzzing artistes and entertainers in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

As the anticipation for the awards builds up, nominees will be revealed later in the month as well as special performances for 2014.

As with last year, the recently-introduced category, The Best Alternative Song, will be featured again.
