Ace nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has revealed that she has a smooth relationship with Jesus, emphasizing that she is a born-again Christian.
The controversial artiste who recently got married to Oladunni Churchill, who she said was a son to Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria’s former president, admitted that she “backslid” but was now back to Christ.
“I have always been a very good Christian, I would say that I backslided, but I have come back to Christ and I have immersed myself in Him again, I can now say I’m born again,” she said while speaking on Channels TV programme nollywood uncut.
“It doesn’t mean I cannot enjoy my life, I cannot be the entertainer that I want to be, but I now live a good Christian life, but I have always had a Christian orientation.”
She said she people keep judging her for roles she plays in various movies, adding that she should not be judge based on fiction.
“You cannot judge me for my job; that is a job. Instead of me getting upset, I get really happy that I must be a very wonderful artiste, for you to see a movie and say that’s how she is”.
She also revealed that she has really enjoyed her way to the top, not having to go through the hassles of auditions and all sorts to get to where she is today.
As a graduate, Dikeh said she can always dust up her certificate and use it at any time, referring to what she had as the “double blessing” of being an entertainer and an engineer.
Aside acting, Tontolet, as her fans fondly call her, is into music, and she is signed unto D’banj’s DB Records.
