Football administrators around the world have been put on the edge of their seats with the wave of corruption sweeping through the game.
In 2015 alone, world and international football chiefs have been involved in different corruption.
With the year closing and football matters folding with it, TheCable highlights 10 high football officials affected by the heat.
SEPP BLATTER
The 79-year-old Swiss football authority was shocked with the verdict of the FIFA ethics committee investigating the said payment of $1.9m to Mitchel Platini without proper documentation – an act which runs afoul with ethical standards of financial proceedings.
MICHEL PLATINI
Former France international and UEFA president was slammed with an eight-year ban in the corruption scandal over ‘disloyal payment’ received from Blatter.
RICARDO TEIXEIRA
Former Brazil Football Confederation, CBF, president and former son-in-law of longest serving FIFA president, Joao Havelange, was indicted in 2015 for allegedly collecting millions of dollars in bribes in awarding World Cup marketing rights.
MARCO POLO DEL NORO
CBF chief, was alongside compatriot, Teixeira, charged with “racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering conspiracies” with “sustained abuse of positions for financial gain”.
ALFREDO HAWIT
CONCACAF president from Honduras, was suspended by FIFA for 90 days on ‘suspicion of accepting millions of dollars as bribes’.
JEFFREY WEBB
Former Concacaf president from the Cayman Islands, was accused of ‘accepting bribes worth millions of dollars in connection with the sale of marketing rights’.
He was placed under house arrest on $10m bail by a New York judge in July, after he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

FIFA vice-president and CONMEBOL president was alongside Hawit, suspended for 90 days on same suspicion.
EDUARDO DELUCA
Former CONMEBOL secretary general, the Argentine was charged for his participation in corruption claims
RAFAEL SALGUERO
FIFA executive committee member was indicted for the same charges with Eduardo Deluca, Jose Luis Meiszner and all those charged in December.
JOSE LUIS MEISZNER
CONMEBOL secretary-general and Argentine administrator was charged together with compatriot, Deluca after being accused of “running schemes designed to solicit and receive more than $270 million in bribes and kickbacks, to sell media and marketing rights for tournaments and matches.”
