There was pandemonium at the federal capital territory (FCT) high court in Abuja on Thursday as some persons suspected to be traders of Utako market in Abuja attacked an official of Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) simply identified as Dennis.

The angry traders had chased Dennis into the legal department of the court, claiming he had connived with the judge to adjourn a case involving them.

Traders of Utako market filed a lawsuit against the Abuja Municipal Council Area (AMAC) over the plan of AMAC to demolish and revoke their shops after signing 99 years of lease agreement.

The case was initially scheduled to come up for hearing on Thursday.

The traders, who had mobilised themselves to the court, were told that the matter would not hold because of the absence of the judge.

The traders got infuriated when they were told no new date has bee slated for the case.

They resorted to chanting anti government songs, heaping curses on the court officials.

When the mob sighted Dennis, they pursued him but he managed to escape into the legal unit of the court.
