The ward head of Zandam in Jibia local government area of Katsina has been kidnapped.
According to Daily Trust, the traditional ruler was seized alongside a businessman in the village.
The kidnappers were said to have stormed the village Sunday night, and broke into their homes to abduct them.
Some residents who, reportedly, tried to rescue the victims were injured in the process.
So far, no ransom has been placed on them by the abductors.
Gurbi Magarya, a neighbouring village, was also attacked and cows were rustled.
Gambo Isah, the state’s police spokesman, confirmed the incident, saying the “police are making effort to rescue them”.
The traditional ruler is a member of the Katsina state emirate council.
