Saidu Alkali, minister of transportation, says the federal government has completed 135 road projects across northern Nigeria as part of its infrastructure renewal drive.
Suleiman Haruna, director of public relations at the federal ministry of information and national orientation, said in a statement issued that Alkali spoke on Wednesday during a two-day interactive session organised by the Ahmadu Bello Foundation.
According to the minister, 266 additional road construction projects are ongoing in the region, and 312 maintenance projects have been completed.
He noted that several legacy projects are underway across many states, including the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway, Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, Calabar–Abuja Superhighway, and the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe Road.

He listed other completed projects to include the greater Abuja water supply network project, the construction or rehabilitation of numerous primary and secondary schools, and the inauguration of three world-class bus terminals.
He said in the federal capital territory (FCT), 14 road projects have been completed and inaugurated, adding that several other road construction, rehabilitation, and expansion works are ongoing across the country in line with the renewed hope agenda.
