Travellers abducted as gunmen attack Kaduna community
The police command in Kaduna has confirmed the abduction of some travellers, following an attack by gunmen on the Kaduna-Kachia road in the state.
Mohammed Jalige, spokesperson of the Kaduna police command, confirmed the attack to NAN on Friday.
He, however, said security operatives are yet to determine the exact number of people who were abducted.
According to him, empty vehicles were recovered from the scene, while one person was found injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, reportedly told NAN that the incident happened around 3pm at Makyalli area, along Kaduna-Kachia road.
The eyewitness was said to have explained that he was also plying that route when he was alerted to the incident, which occurred close to his location at the time.
The witness said he and some other commuters, who escaped the attack, spent about 40 minutes on the highway before security operatives came and cleared the road.
