A photo of Nigerian soldiers celebrating Christmas on the battlefield is trending on social media.

The photo, which was shared on Twitter by Akobi Daddy, a Nigerian soldier fighting insurgents in the north-east, had a message that read: “Merry Christmas from this side..May this season come with a reason to always smile and stay happy.”

The tweet which has been retweeted over 4000 times comes with good will replies from Nigerians.
