The Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lauded the presidential election petitions tribunal for affirming the electoral victory of President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Friday, Darlington Nwauju, spokesperson of Rivers APC, asked Nigerians to accept the verdict and unite behind Tinubu for a greater nation.

On Wednesday, the tribunal struck out petitions of the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.

The tribunal ruled against the petitioners for failing to prove their case and affirmed Tinubu’s election.

“The Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress has hailed the presidential elections petitions tribunal (PEPT) for affirming the electoral victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR,” the statement reads.

“We join millions of progressives all over the country who freely, sincerely, and patriotically gave Mr. President the mandate on 25th February 2023 to chart a re-cause of history for the Nigerian federation.

“We are elated with the fact that the PEPT interpreted the law to ensure the engineering of our democratic process and sustain the gains of the renewed hope agenda for Nigeria.

“We encourage all Nigerians to unite behind Mr. president to build a prosperous nation where egalitarianism and progress shall reign.”
