Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have killed 12 suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in Borno state.
Citing security sources, Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused in the Lake Chad region, said the feat was achieved in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and other security agencies.
Makama said the terrorists were neutralised during a long-range tactical operations conducted between August 29 and 30 in Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri, Gaza, and Loskori Kura villages.
The publication said troops engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle at Loskori Kura, killing 12 of them.

It added that six AK-47 rifles, eight magazines, and a cache of assorted drugs were recovered during the operation.
“Some of the terrorists were observed receiving treatment from injuries sustained in an earlier encounter with troops the previous day,” Makama quoted the sources as saying.
Makama said the operation disrupted the movement and logistics supply of the fighters in the area.
