The Nigerian army says its personnel have neutralised several bandits and rescued three kidnap victims in a series of operations in Kogi state.
The operation was carried out by troops of Operation Egwua A Tite II between September 1 and September 5.
Hassan Abdullahi, acting assistant director of army public relations, 12 Brigade, said troops of the 126 Battalion, in conjunction with other hybrid forces (OHF), first engaged and killed two bandits in the Tunga general area.
Kasim Sidi, brigade commander and force commander of Operation Accord III, later led further exploitation of the area, which resulted in the destruction of several bandits’ settlements and increased patrols and ambush operations.
