The Kaduna government says troops of operation Safe Haven have averted two kidnap attempts and rescued six persons in Jema’a LGA of the state.

Samuel Aruwan, the commissioner for internal security and home affairs, confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday.

He said the troops informed the Kaduna state government that two kidnap attempts were thwarted at different locations within the LGA.

Aruwan said: “According to the reports, the incident occurred along the Badde-Ungwan Ayaba-Keffi road, where bandits attempted to abduct occupants of a commercial vehicle approaching from Abuja.

The commissioner said in another incident, the troops rescued one person along the Fanock-Kyayya-Keffi road after he had been abducted from his vehicle by bandits.

“He was rescued with minor leg injuries and was taken to hospital for medical attention,” he said.
