Troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) have reportedly rescued about 44 women and children during a raid on terrorists enclaves in Timbuktu Triangle, Damboa LGA of Borno.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the victims were rescued by the troops of Operation Lake Sanity III, a subsidiary of Operation Hadin Kai.

The publication said the victims were rescued after some fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) were defeated by troops of sector 2 special forces.

The feat was reportedly achieved in collaboration with troops of HYBRID and Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) on April 20.
