Troops repel attack, kill six ISWAP fighters in Borno

The troops of 25 task force brigade have killed six fighters of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) in Borno.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on Lake Chad region, the troops eliminated the ISWAP fighters while repelling an attack in Sabo Gari in Damboa LGA of the state on Wednesday.

The publication said the fighters were forced to flee when the troops bombarded them with firepower.

However,  the publication said one soldier was also killed during the encounter, adding that weapons belonging to the terrorists were recovered by troops.

Meanwhile, the troops of 21 armoured brigade, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force(CJTF), on Thursday killed four Boko Haram terrorists in the outskirts of Bama town.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Nigeria Air Force troops of Operation Hadarin Daji reportedly bombed over 100 bandits during a series of air strikes in Kebbi state.

According to Zagazola Makama, the coordinated air strikes were fired at the bandits as they journeyed through Sageko Malekachi village on Wednesday afternoon.

Zagazola said the ground team of the troops also went after the fleeing bandits and killed 17 of them.
