Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly rescued a woman who was abducted from Adamawa state by Boko Haram terrorists in 2014.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the woman was rescued by the troops in Bama LGA of Borno.

The publication said the woman was rescued with three children by troops of the Forward Operating Base Molai, in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force, and Operation Hadin Kai.

An intelligence source told the publication that the troops, during a counter-offensive patrol in Yuwe-Komala, in Bama LGA of Borno, confronted the terrorists who fled and abandoned the victims.

The source said those rescued include a 24-year-old mother identified as Aisha Usman, and Hauwa, Binta and Amina, her three daughters.

The source said the three children are aged 8, 6 and 2.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that Aisha Usman was forcefully abducted when Boko Haram invaded her home in Hantsa village, Madagali LGA of Adamawa state in 2014,” Makama said.

“She was moved to Njimiya camp of the Boko Haram in Sambisa Forest where she was forcefully married to one of the terrorists with three children.”

The publication added that Usman and her daughters are currently in military custody for profiling and further action.
