William Troost-Ekong, Super Eagles defender, has joined Watford FC, a championship side in England.
The Hornets announced Troost-Ekong’s transfer in a statement on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old Nigerian international linked up with Watford from Udinese, an Italian Serie A side, on a five-year contract.
“Nigerian international defender William Troost-Ekong has completed a permanent transfer to Watford, the Hornets are delighted to announce,” the statement read.
“The 27-year-old centre-half, who has 42 caps and represented his country at the 2018 World Cup, has signed a five-year contract with the Hornets and becomes the latest new addition to Vladimir Ivić’s squad.”
The talented defender also took to his official Twitter page to expressing his excitement.
Troost-Ekong, who was born in the Netherlands, began his senior career in the Eredivisie with Groningen and Dordrecht before a stint in Belgium and Norway.
The Eagles vice-captain then joined Bursaspor in Turkey before moving to Serie A with Udinese in 2018.
He is expected to wear the number five shirt at Watford.
