Super Falcons’ forward, Asisat Oshoala, is going to Canada to win the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The reigning African best female player was the most valuable player and highest goal scorer at the 2014 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup hosted in Canada. But her team, the Super Falconets, came second in the championship losing 1-0 to Germany in the final.

Now, Oshoala is ready to swap individual honours for the ultimate – the trophy.

“Winning the MVP and highest goal scorer award at the forthcoming World Cup are secondary achievements but the primary aim is to go there and get the trophy. That is the primary thing so whatever comes after that is the secondary achievement,” she told thenff.com.

“I am not under any pressure because that was a junior competition and this is a senior competition. Definitely, it is a different ball game but what I will say is that I will go to Canada again and give my best and prove that I am a good player and that what happened in 2014 was not a fluke. I have to make sure I give the fans a lot of reasons to smile in Nigeria.”

Super Falcons are drawn against USA, Sweden and Australia in the first round of the World Cup.
