Tunde Sanni has stepped down as coach of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC.

Sanni threw in the towel on Monday after a brief meeting with Alloy Chukwuemeka, director of football, at the club’s secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.

Chukwuemeka told TheCable that he was surprised to have received Sanni’s resignation.

“I was surprised when I got to the office and saw coach Sanni’s resignation letter this morning,” Chukwuemeka said.

“After discussing with the management of the club, his resignation was accepted.

“Myself and the club wish coach Sanni the best in his future endeavours.”

When TheCable contacted Sanni, he said it was on a mutual ground that he parted ways with the club.

Recent results have not favoured ABS, having lost to Kebbi United in the round of 64 encounter of the Aiteo Cup in Minna, Niger state.

The Saraki Boys were also defeated by Mighty Jets in the Nigeria National League (NNL) matchday 10 encounter.

Taofeeq Babatunde, the club’s U-15 coach, has been drafted to the main team to assist Suleiman Quadri, who will be in charge until a substantive manager is appointed.
