The Nigeria male basketball team D’Tigers was defeated in the final of the 2017 Afrobasket championship by the host Tunisia at the Salle Omnisports de Rades.

Tunisia, whom D’Tigers lost to at the same venue two years ago in the group stage, thrashed the Nigerian team 77 to 65 points.

The championship highest scoring team failed to live up to expectations as they lost three of the four quarters of the game.

D’Tigers won the first quarter 14 to 8 points while the Tunisians took the Nigerian side apart in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters on 10-17, 16-27 and 25-25.
