Nigerians on social media platforms have reacted after Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, announced that he tested positive for coronavirus.

El-rufai had taken to his Twitter page on Saturday to share a video where he disclosed his status for COVID-19.

The development makes him the second governor to test positive for the killer virus in Nigeria, after Bala Mohammed, his counterpart in Bauchi state.

Nigerians have since taken to the microblogging platform to wish the governor speedy recovery.

“The Governor of Kaduna, His Excellency, Mallam Nasir @elrufai has tested positive for Covid-19. May you and every other person that has contracted the virus recover. Your prayers are needed,” Bello, one of the governor’s son tweeted.

Mallam Elrufai's owns is even more depressing because here is a man who has been working very hard the last couple of days making sure the people of Kaduna state are protected from this virus. May Allah grant him shifa & all those who tested positive. What a troubling news. Sigh

Mallam El Rufai is one person that took extra measures to curb Covid in his State . Kaduna should be thankful for having a Governor like him . He took measures that even ABJ didn’t .
