Ajetsibo Emami, convicted of illicit drug trafficking
The federal high court in Lagos has convicted and sentenced two drug kingpins, Ajetsibo Emami and Solomon Akpomuai, over illicit drug trafficking.
On August 18, Deinde Dipeolu, the presiding judge, convicted 37-year-old Emami on a one-count charge bordering on illicit drug dealing and sentenced him to six years in prison with an option of N50 million in lieu of imprisonment.
Emami was arrested in Ikeja, Lagos, on June 28, 2025, after operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) raided a drug trafficking network in a three-day operation.
Operatives recovered 24 “jumbo” bags containing 681 pouches of Canadian Loud and a strain of cannabis weighing 414.2 kilograms during the raid.
