Two people were reportedly killed when suspected armed robbers attacked an old generation bank in Iju-Itaogbolu, Akure north local council area of Ondo state.

A source told TheCable that the robbers numbering about eight invaded the town and divided themselves into two groups before they commenced the operation.

He said the robbers held the town hostage for a long time, detonating explosives and shooting sporadically.

Staff of the bank and some customers reportedly sustained injuries in the attack.
