Two policemen were killed when suspected armed robbers attacked an old generation bank in Ile-Oluji area of Ondo state on Thursday.

TheCable gathered that the gunmen gained entry into the bank through the aid of dynamites. They were said to have stormed the bank  around 4pm on Thursday.

Femi Joseph, police spokesman in the state, said officers have been deployed in the area.

A resident said the gunmen, who stormed the bank in a sports utility vehicle (SUV), operated unchallenged for over one hour.

He said some customers and bank officials were tortured by the attackers before they left.

Local hunters and the police were said to have failed in their bid to stop the attack which reportedly led to the loss of two other lives.

The attack happened five months after gunmen invaded a commercial bank at Iju in Akure north local government area of the state.
