The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has commended soldiers from the 135 special forces battalion for the rescue of 86 kidnapped victims in Borno state.
Earlier on Monday, Sani Uba, the media information officer for Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), said soldiers from the 135 special forces battalion under sector 2 responded to reports of abductions along the Buratai–Kamuya road.
The troops reportedly encountered Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists at Dutse Kura on Sunday and engaged them in combat before pursuing the insurgents to Mangari.
The foundation, in a statement signed by Ibrahim Danfulani, its chairman, commended Y.M. Abdullahi, the commanding officer of the battalion, for the “tactical brilliance in neutralising” the terrorists’ ambush.
