The Falconets of Nigeria demolished their Togolese counterpart 6-0 at the ongoing WAFU B women’s U-20 championship.

The Nigerians put half-a-dozen goals past their opponent in a dominant display at the Baba Yara stadium, Kumasi, Ghana, on Wednesday.

Bello Aminat opened the onslaught in the 11th minute with a glancing header from a corner kick.

The second goal came one minute after Sebastien Flourish leapt and headed home from a rebound off Taiwo Afolabi’s shot.

Esther Onyenezide made it three from the spot in the 30th minute, sending the Togolese goalkeeper the wrong way.

Bello got her second goal in the 54th minute with a smashing shot through the legs of the Togolese goalkeeper.

Ten minutes later, Taye Ajakaye made it five for the Falconets. The defender rose highest to meet a drilling corner kick before glancing the header into the net.

Flourish wrapped the game up with her second goal and the team’s sixth goal, and it was a beautiful strike hammered into the top of the right corner of the post.

The Falconets continued their incredible run in the group stage after steamrolling Niger 7-0 in their first game. The victory against Togo confirms their place in the semi-final of the competition.

On Sunday, the Nigerians will face Burkina Faso at the Paa Joe Stadium, Kumasi.
