Flying Eagles of Nigeria
The Flying Eagles have been eliminated from the ongoing U-20 World Cup in Chile.
The team was defeated 4-0 by Argentina in the second-round match on Wednesday night.
Nigeria had squeezed through the Group stage as one of the best third-placed teams after gathering only four points from three games.
However, the Eagles’ luck ran out against Argentina, who looked dangerous whenever they attacked the Nigerian box.

The Argentinians scored their first goal as early as the second minute, courtesy of Alejo Sarco. Then, Maher Carrizo doubled the advantage from a free kick in the 23rd minute, after a foul by Nasiru Salihu on the edge of the box.
Early in the second half, Carrizo scored his second of the game and Argentina’s third to compound Nigeria’s misery.
Ten minutes later, Matheus Silvetti beat the offside trap to bend his kick to the bottom right of Ebenezer Harcourt for Argentina’s fourth goal in the 66th minute.
