Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has appointed Ben Solomon Kure as managing director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
Kure’s appointment was announced on Sunday in a statement issued by Ibraheem Musa, Sani’s chief press secretary.
Kure replaces Ahmed Maiyaki who was appointed commissioner of information last week.
The new state media MD is expected to build on “Maiyaki’s excellent work which has transformed the media corporation into a strategic vehicle for effective public information dissemination and management”.

Musa described Kure as a public communication expert and political strategist who will bring “to his new assignment his wealth of experience in various fields, including public service and banking”.
Some of Kure’s previous political roles include chairman of Jaba LGA from 2016 to 2017; executive secretary, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency from 2018 to 2019; and special adviser, political matters, to the governor from 2019 to 2021.
Before his foray into politics, the new KSMC MD was branch manager of Oceanic Bank PLC/ECOBANK Nigeria PLC from 2010 to 2012; team leader, Zenith Bank PLC from 2005 to 2006; and team leader (public sector), Broad Bank from 2003 to 2004.

Kure holds a master’s degree in conflict, peace and strategic studies, and a bachelor of science in geography and planning.
He is a corporate member, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and member, The Institute of Management Consultants (MIMC).
Musa congratulated Kure on his appointment, and extended the governor’s wishes of guidance and protection.
