Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has asked security agencies to find and prosecute killers of Stephen Naman, a seminarian in Zangon Kataf LGA of the state.

On Thursday night, bandits invaded Kamantan and Sabon Kaura in Zangon Kataf, killing three people including the seminarian.

Residents of the community reportedly killed one bandit. In a reprisal move, the bandits set the parish where Naman was hiding ablaze. He was consumed by the inferno.

In a statement on Friday, Mohammed Shehu, the governor’s spokesperson, quoted his principal as saying that the attack was an attempt to ignite religious tensions in the state.

“The attack was carried out with the sole intention of igniting ethnic and religious tensions in Kaduna State and sabotaging the government’s efforts towards rebuilding trust in our communities,” the statement reads.

“We will not tolerate such acts of brutality and will go to any length within the law to bring the attackers to book.

“[Security agencies] should swiftly investigate the incident and ensure that the culprits are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.”
