Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, has commended the Aliko Dangote Foundation for donating 35,000 bags of rice to the 23 LGAs.
Speaking on Thursday at the distribution of the rice, Sani, who was represented by Sani Kila, his chief of staff, said each LGA would receive 1,522 bags.
The governor described the foundation’s interventions as “well-targeted” and “impactful”, while pledging his continued collaboration to improve the welfare of vulnerable citizens.
“The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s social protection initiatives align with the policies and programmes of our administration on social investment,” Sani said.

“Since the inception of our administration, we have impacted the lives of our citizens through the delivery of basic services with a focus on health, education and social protection.
“We have also been supporting economic recovery through inclusive growth, financial inclusion and literacy for the poor and vulnerable, humanitarian response to internally displaced persons (IDPs), and improving peace, safety and security.”
Sadiq Ahmed, a representative of the foundation, said the distribution was part of its annual national food intervention project, which targets over one million underprivileged Nigerians.

“This initiative is in line with the core values of Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s businesses and the Aliko Dangote Foundation,” Ahmed said.
