Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, says his administration will not abandon any project in the state, pledging to deliver infrastructure that will directly impact residents.
Sani spoke on Friday during the groundbreaking of township roads at Rigasa ward in Igabi LGA.
The governor said the project, awarded to China Civil Engineering Corporation (CCEC), would be completed within a year, noting that 50 percent of the mobilisation fee has already been paid.
He assured contractors handling construction works in the state that they would be owed upon completion of their projects.

Sani said the projects would be executed without borrowing, adding that the new roads would ease the burden of thousands of households in the area.
“Rigasa is one of the largest and most populous wards in Nigeria. It is populated by the urban poor. It has suffered neglect for so long. Its infrastructure deficit is worrisome,” he said.
The governor said Rigasa played a crucial role in his 2023 electoral victory, noting that 32.06 percent of votes from Igabi LGA came from the ward.

Sani also performed the groundbreaking for the reconstruction of Zango road in Tudun Wada ward, Kaduna south LGA.
The governor noted that the road is significant because it connects key establishments, including Zango cattle market, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi College, and the School of Health Technology, and links the Nnamdi Azikiwe western bypass.
“I have an emotional attachment to this area because I am a product of Kaduna Polytechnic,” he said.
“I understand and share in the pains of the inhabitants of this area who have suffered neglect for decades. There is very little road infrastructure in this area.

“The few existing ones are dilapidated. This area is populated by the urban poor who are making huge contributions to the development of our dear state.”
Sani highlighted progress recorded in the state’s road projects under his administration.
He said 85 roads covering 785 kilometres were launched in the first phase of the rural revitalisation agenda, with 44 already completed.
“Under the second phase, we are delivering over 50 more roads and bridges totalling 550km,” he added.
