Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, says his administration is committed to championing genuine reconciliation among the people in the southern part of the state.

In a statement at the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association in Kafanchan on Thursday, the governor said his administration is ready to correct the mistakes of past governments for the progress and development of the state.

The southern part of the state has witnessed a slew of conflicts for decades — ratcheted by religious and ethnic tension.

Represented at the event by Ishaya Jangado, the senior special assistant on religious affairs (Christian matters), the governor appealed to the Christian community in the district to rally round the current administration in its quest to run an all-inclusive government.

Emmanuel Kure, chairman of the association, commended the governor for his efforts at uniting the state.

He pledged the association’s support for initiatives aimed at promoting peaceful religious co-existence.

In May 2023, the Kaduna government prohibited all activities of Atyap Community Development Association, a group in the southern part of the state.
